Praying

On our way back from seeing a tax agency, Dylan decided to pray before eating our dinner.

He was praying to: wish me well as I have had a bad sinus headache all day. I couldn't stay home due to meeting our tax agency. He also was praying to make us home safe and sound after it was raining cats and dogs. He even mentioned to make sure we are not getting sick from eating our dinner. Certainly, he was a very thoughtful young boy!

Overwhelmed

Have you ever experience wanting to shut everyone out for a day or two? I felt that way of this past two weeks because I have too much to do. Some of my errands can be given it out to others, and some I can't

Currently, I have eight students in my class. The parent conference are around the corner. This means I have to meet all of the students' I.E.P Benchmarks. Don't assume it is only eight benchmarks. Each students have about five or six benchmarks from their I.E.P. Guess it adds up to 40 to 45 benchmarks to test before the parent conference arrives.

I am a week behind of my lesson plan. It is difficult because I have four different grade levels to write my lesson plans. The plans are to follow the curriculum ! This was to put on a hold because I have to prepare my part for the tax (I just finished this morning.)

This week, I received an e-mail from University California of San Diego chairperson from Deaf and Hard of Hearing Department. She wanted to send: 1) Two observators to come to observe my class for their project (it is not a problem.) 2) But I will have a student teacher after a break. I could decline if I want to. I didn't because I wanted to look good on my teaching resume'. What can I avoid?

I guess having a cup of a Sugar Free Chai is calling me!!! This will relieved my stresses!

Loves Puffles

My younger son, Ryan LOVES Puffles. He likes to pretend they were humans.

Ryan had a soft heart by telling me that he wanted to keep his puffles warm for the night. He also mentioned that he didn't want them to be scared of dark without him.

Half Way Through...

Can you believe that my older son is being a half through by becoming an adult? Today he just turned nine ! We treated him like a King all day. The first thing in the morning, he woke up early and finding a helium balloon, birthday card, and a penguin pez.

After we got back home from school and work, we went straight to his favorite restaurant. Can you guess for a nine year child? If you are thinking of a pizza, you got a wrong answer. It was not his choice. He chose "Kyoto" which has Sushi.
Dad shared the celebration with Dylan's 9th Birthday.
Ryan participated the birthday dinner with his brother.
I too joined the club.
Before we left for home, Dylan saw there was octopus at the display. He wanted to try it for REAL! He had always wanted to try it for a long time. But the chef was willing to give him a small octopus sushi for free because it was birthday. Guess what? He loved it!

At the end of the day, both David and I realized he is a half way through on becoming an adult.!

Catozilla!

Star acted like he was a Catozilla! Being as a Catozilla, he thought of himself being the biggest animal on the planet. So, he ambushed the little T-Rex !

Build a Home

Once in a long while, we give our kids a privilege to sleep with us. Dylan wanted to sleep with his dad, so I slept down stairs because Ryan wanted to sleep next to me. So, Ryan wanted to build a home.

After he build a home, he hollered, " We build a beautiful home together. Now, we can have a party together." Dylan overheard him from upstairs. He said, " You re having a party?" I had to explain to him that it is called, "slumber party."

Right after the picture, we went to bed for the night.

He literally slept all night on his new home.

Positive News

For the past week, we have few positive news.

1) Dylan is qualified being in G.A.T.E (Gifted and Talented Education) Program from our home school district. It did not surprise me because we noticed when he was a young baby. That's why I had to push him to write more paragraphs for his recent project: Saturn. I will be writing a letter to the principal what to expect him for this year, and next year.

2) Ryan's reading comprehension has been improving. Currently, he is at 2.7. It means he reads at second grade, seven months. He got 100 % on his Accelerated Reading. I must say that it exceeded my expectation because most autistic has lower reading comprehension. For two reasons, he has improved a lot was: I asked him questions from time to time when we read together, and he write a reading response for his journal daily.

3) My boss told me that I am literally ready to have a student teacher. It is either I will have in the Spring or in the Fall. This will help me to earn my professional growth. Not only to teaching a student teacher, I will be teaching 4th-6th grade girls about Sex Education. Oh boy, I could image their giggles and blushing!

4) That is the only thing about being ready to teach a student teacher, I probably will have on-going observation in my class. It is a college student who likes my class. While I might a college student observing my class, I also have a long-term sub teacher asking me for my help to give her insight ideas for the class. The good news my boss told me that she will write a letter to California Teaching Commission Teacher that I have earned 20 hours to help a long -term sub for my professional growth.
