More Fun Activities

A day after the boys experienced the snow fight near by our home, we took our boys to see another Santa Claus (good grief, they didn't get a hint for finding out why there were so many Santa Claus!)

When we got there, we had the most delicious Free Breakfast from our community club. Who couldn't resist the food?

While we were waiting for the boys speaking with Santa Claus, I had Dylan and Ryan making their own Gingerbread cookies. I was pretty impressed that Ryan did a FABULOUS job without my assist! It was a good thing I took a picture of his awesome job before either someone had accidentally took the wrong gingerbread cookie or stole his cookie. Dylan was in a good sportsmanship for willing to complete his gingerbread cookie with my assist.

After they finished making their cookie, Dylan was willing to try out for another art craft: making a snowman out of a mini pail. Unfortunately, he didn't finish it. We still have it in our home waiting for us to complete the task.
As usual, we were waiting for our turn to see Santa Claus, Ryan decided to explore an indoor community building. He went upstairs to oversee the view. Then, he found his dad and Dylan watching him from upstairs. He hurriedly ran downstairs to sit on his dad's lap. I guess, he was jealous!

But while he was sitting on his dad's lap, both boys decided to fool themselves out when I took a picture of them. You can judge that !

Still we were waiting for Santa Claus to speak with our goofy boys, Dylan was gallant enough to sing "Jingle Bell " in a front of audience with the carolers. (Watch out for the upload you tube.)

Finally, we got a chance to have our picture taken with Santa Claus. I personally think the picture turned out better than the first ones (in our "Winter Activities" post.)

A Sign of the Times

I thought it was too cute to share it with you all after I got a Christmas card from my mother.

As a little boy climbed onto Santa's lap, Santa asked,

" And what would you like for Christmas?"

The child stared at him open-mouthed and horrified for a minute, then gasped:

"Didn't you get my email?"

Winter Activities

Have you ever thought about seeing two lives reindeer nearby our home? Both Dylan and Ryan were inquisitive to see if the reindeer were actually real! In order to satisfy them, we took to see the two real reindeer nearby our home.

The chance of getting close to the reindeer was to take the first 500 attendance to get free picture with Santa Claus and two reindeer. We indeed were lucky to be one of the among attendances. Instead of waiting for the boys' turn, they desperately wanted to take a closer look at the reindeer.

Signs for "Reindeer"

Before we allowed them to have fun, we rushed out for Mexican lunch before the crowded came. The food was too good to get FREE Kids' meal, while the adults had to pay their own meal. Oh well, we are being thrifty especially having Christmas around the corner. Also, it was so nice to stay inside of the building because it was cold for California residence, low 50's.

Gallant Son Goes Without Jacket

Once we got stuffed from the delicious lunch meal, we were valiant to go out in the cold with the winds. The first thing the boys PLEADED to go out for a snow fight, but we wouldn't let them until they finished taking pictures with Santa Claus and reindeer. Who would want to see their teeth chattering if their clothes were damped from the snow fight?

Oh boy, I had to deal with their pouting. But they turned their frown upside down until they got in the bouncy rides. They idolized the older kids who could jump high in the air and bounced it down the hill. Dylan really wanted to copy it, but later the thought of doing this frighten him. Ryan followed after his brother. They went twice before our call to see Santa Claus.

As the boys got closer to see Santa Claus, Dylan inquired Mrs. Santa what were the names of two reindeer: Dancer and Prancer. Who ever thought a child would tell Mrs. Santa Claus that we forgot to serve them the carrots? Without having carrots, they went up to tell Santa Claus what they wanted before taking their pictures.

My disappointment was the picture did NOT turn out great. Why should I grumbled over this since we were one of the 500 attendance got FREE picture?

As soon as they finished having their picture with Santa Claus, the first thing they thought was going out for a SNOW FIGHT ! It was the first time they experienced with the real snow from Julian, California and played for five minutes. Both Dylan and Ryan exchanged the snow fight to each others and other people.

Siblings Snow Fight

After they finished the snow fight, they kept saying, "I'M SO COLD!" They did get their clothes wet, but lucky I did bring extra clothes in the van before we left for our last minute Christmas shopping for the day.

Pisa Christmas Tree

Two weeks before Christmas, we decided to buy a real Christmas tree on Thursday night. It was a good thing we did buy on Thursday night because it was "raining cats and dogs" the next day.

By the time we arrived home, David immediately put the tree up before letting Dylan and Ryan decorated the half of the Christmas tree. The problem was the Christmas Tree looked like it was a Pisa Christmas Tree. I thought it would be a perfect unique Christmas tree, but David despited my idea. Bummer!

Once David finished straighten the Christmas tree, we gave our sons, Dylan and Ryan a privilege to decorate the Christmas tree for the first time. You could have seen their looks on their THRILLED face! I honesty can say that it had save time for one of my Christmas Things to do!

They continued to amaze me because they did a SPLENDID job; otherwise, David and I would be fuzzing it over the way it looked before Santa Claus arrived. David put the final touch- the Santa Claus on the top of the Christmas Tree.

Do you think it is still a Pisa Christmas Tree? Aren't they beautiful?

Pager/Cell Phone

At the parking lot, I was using my pager to communicate with my husband while my boys were in the van with me.

Ryan inquired me, " What is that?" I replied to him, "Oh, it is a pager. It helps me to talk with your dad." Who ever thought about the conversation would began about "growing up too fast?"

Ryan said, "I want a pager." Dylan jumped in the conversation, "Yeah, I wanted a cell phone."

This conversation made me curious why would my five and six year old sons would want to have a phone. Dylan mentioned, " One of my friends at school has a cell phone." It stunned me and got into me a further questionnaire.

"Oh, what grade is she in ?" First grade??? Oh my goodness ! Do you think a first grade would take a good responsibility to own a cell phone or even a pager???

Nancy Drew's " Who Would Buy Old Ragged Shoes for $100?"

This time I am giving you the privilege to become a detective and start investigate the story after you read this real life event. It happened at my work site. However, I am changing the students' names which involved one of my students.

The scene occurred in P.E locker room. The three young good looking boys decided to exchange the shoes before the next class. The incident began:

Alex
: He had a brand new pair of Van shoes. He had a soft heart by loaning his brand new shoes to the second student, Brian.

Brian
: He took them and put them in his P.E. locker. However, he had an eye for a pair of skater shoes. He asked the third person, Chris, if he could use his skater shoes.

Chris: He would accept Brian's offer to keep his skater shoes if Brian pays Chris.

Then, the story began at Detective Nancy Drew's office with all of these three boys: Alex, Brian and Chris to get the story straighten.

Chris was telling the detective that Brian gave him a hundred dollar bill. Detective Drew asked Brain if it was true.

Brian replied, " No, it is not true. I gave ten dollars to the cafeteria. " The detective had asked her partner to check it out at the cafeteria. Unfortunately, the cashier had gone home, except one of the cafeteria workers came to assist the partner by checking it out how much Brian owed to cafeteria. The result was that he only owed one dollar. The partner went back to give a part of the report to Detective Nancy Drew.

Detective Nancy Drew asked Chris if it was true that he had the one hundred dollars. He then showed her the hundred dollar bill. A REAL Hundred Dollar on a school campus?! Detective Drew had asked Chris to give him the bill. Chris had a poker face when he handed her a HUNDRED dollar to Detective Drew. Why would he have a poker face? Why was it so easy for Chris to hand over the $100?"

She also questioned Alex whether he had seen the scene. His good looking response was," I didn't see anything." But the question still is "Why would Alex lent his brand new Van shoes to Brian?". "Is Alex an innocent bystander or is he some how involved in this $100 transaction?".

The next scene was Alex and Brian were assigned to pick up the skater shoes that Brian had left it in his P.E. Locker. After the boys came back with a pair of skater shoes, Detective Nancy Drew was bewildered that Alex "would give him a hundred dollar" in cash because the shoes were a pair of REALLY old, filthy, and ragged shoes.

So, he commanded Brian to give Chris his old ragged skater back. The mystery is "Why did Alex lend Brian his new pair of Vans and why did Chris say that Brian gave him $100 for his old ragged skater shoes?".

Hearing your possible thoughts would be appreciated or even better to have a possible solution for Detective Nancy Drew.
