Shoes Vs. Bare feet

How many pairs of shoes do you own? Well, I was fascinated to learn more about Geniuses World Record. Believe it or not, the Largest Collection of Converse Shoes: Joshua Mueller of Lakewood, Washington has a collection of 403 unique pairs of Converse Shoes which he has been collecting since 1991.

You may be wondering why did I bring this subject up. It occurred Dylan mentioned out of blue that he needed to have me buying him 48 more pairs of shoes! I asked him to give me a valid reason. All he gave me an answer, "Just because." For a short deliberation moment, he spontaneously said, " I just like to wear different shoes everyday." Who knows he would be the next Geniuses World Record for collecting shoes?

Dylan had asked Ryan how many shoes he would like to have. His immediate response, "No like to wear shoes." Frankly, I can relate to Ryan because it feels so good without having a pair of shoes on. That is a wonder why he often requested me to do the nail trimming for him, or even trimming my toenails ! Ryan reminds that he got the genetic from me, who like to wear sandals without socks or without shoes. Not only getting the genetic from me, it adds to another two family members I know: Cathy and my dad.

Which ones do you prefer to wear with shoes or without shoes? Why?

Absence Excuse

I discovered that Dylan has learned to write his own absence excuses. Now, He just needs to learn what activities are legitimate reasons to miss school. (Click the picture to read what he wrote.)

Let's Go Eat Some Worms

Mmmm, a good dirty wormy apple! Actually, it is a green apple covered with white chocolate, caramel and then coated with Oreo cookie crumbs and topped with a grummy worm.

They were delicious for a special treat from Ryan and Dylan's grandparents from East Coast, came out to spoil them. Ryan couldn't resist the Oreo cookie crumbs. He also had chocolate mustache. Dylan was the ones who wasn't sure if it was a faked or real worm. He slowly cautiously put in his mouth.

Dylan was being generous by handing his left over wormy apple. Ryan and I were delighted to share our special moment.

The Blues Brothers

Move over Elwood and Jake, Dylan and Ryan are the new sound in town. They were delighted to be the youngest, prominent stars by playing their new harmonias.

While tuning their new songs, they created a sound a fusion of Scottish bag pipe and American R & B
( Rhythm and Blues.) Fortunately as deaf parents, we could enjoy their zeal without concerns about their actual song. But pity neighbors!

Chop! Chop! Chop!

"Ahh, I don't want to have a haircut!" whined Dylan. He said he wanted to grow his hair long like a girl. Can you believe that? He wanted to have more hair? Ryan copied Dylan's complaining, " Me too! I don't want my haircut!" But, as usual, mom's word is final. In the end, they both gave in.

This time they were both alert, especially Ryan. The last time, we were there. Ryan actually fell asleep during the haircut. Dylan said he wanted to have his hair cut into a Mohawk hairstyle. Again, mom's rules so there wasn't any color or shaved on the side of his head. (Thank Goodness) Let's hope his tastes changes when he gets older.

Ryan, on the other hand, wants to be like the other kids who get a "porcupine" spike. When all the shouting was done-- they both agreed they looked "cool."

Last Performance

On Friday early evening, we attended Ryan’s last performance at his pre-school. Throughout his “Country Jamboree” performance, he dressed up as a train conductor. Oh, he was a handsome little boy in the farmer’s country. As a city woman, I was one of the women who had a crush for him (whistled).

I have to be honest with you that I had a chance to look back from his first to last performance. He made a remarkable improvement. A year ago, he could not sing or stay throughout the performance. As a little snowman, he just stayed for a very short time, playing with his tambourine when each student was playing with his or her musical instrument. The sounds from the tambourine sounded too good for Ryan to stay his first performance. But when it was time for him to leave for another room so the other class could perform for the audience, he lost his temper. He instead ended up staying with us, while Dylan was still in the performance, in order to ease his anxiety. Perhaps, he thought we would abandon him or even punish him.

Dylan was also involved in his first performance a year ago. Though he is a stocky little boy, he could have fool anyone that he is NOT afraid of anything. Well, he was terrified and cried almost throughout of his first performance: seeing all of the parents and other kids looking at him . He occasionally kept signing, “Mommy!” Doesn’t this break your heart? However, this all has changed for better. Last Spring 2006, they smiled, sang and stayed throughout the performance.

Yesterday, we could see Ryan beaming his smile with his cute little costume. Without having any musical instrument, he did sing,Working on the Railroad, Over in the Meadow, and The Farmer in the Dell.” Pretty good for who just emerged his receptive and expressive language??? (I wish I could upload the youtube, but I am idiot. You will have to bear with us when I have a genius sister in law, Deby, visiting us in August and have her helping us to put all of the “long lost” videos we made for our website in August. So Please bear with us.)

With a heavy burden from his teacher at his pre-school, she has taught him to work on his language, interaction and eye contacts. While teaching him appropriately, they still adored each other very much. Every single day, they would exchange hugs and signs, “I Love You.” Without her or other teachers, Ryan would not have gone that far milestone especially singing within one year!. We wanted to thanks to all of the teachers, especially his current teacher, at his pre-school. Knowing, this would be his last performance at his pre-school before he graduates on June 27th. This had brought my tears to give our farewell.

Dreaming

On an early Saturday morning, I decided to sneak myself out by taking pictures of the three sleeping heads. It is nothing new about me who likes to remain my mischievous personality—so watch out for me!

While I was taking pictures of David, Dylan, and Ryan, I find it ironically that each of them were sleeping on their back. Does it have anything to do with the genetic?

David appeared to dreaming about lying on a top of a deck after taking a break from doing the Scuba Diving.

In Dylan’s dream, he realized he needed some colors on his skin (He is so white like a Casper!). So, he was dreaming that he was at the beach to get some color on his skin with a pair of sunglasses

Last, Ryan was acting as if he was learning to float on a swimming pool from his swimming lesson. Without a doubt, he would go for anything to achieve in learning to swim—he LOVES water!

I guess it is another trait in the McClellan’s Clan that the men and I are water lovers! Thus, it influenced in their beauty dream.
