Tornadoes

Can you image when we heard the warning about having "Tornadoes" on San Diego News? It did happen all over in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties.

It stated on the News:

AT 226 PM PST... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO BETWEEN ESCONDIDO AND IMPERIAL BEACH. THE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HAIL TO NEAR 1 INCH IN DIAMETER AND GUSTY WINDS TO NEAR 60 MPH. THE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 30 MPH.

It happened while I was picking Dylan up at school. I honesty did not know about this storm until I saw the news at home. I only could tell you that the picture did look exactly like this, and will happen all in this week in our areas.

Pulling Teeth Out

On Martin Luther King's Day, I had so many things going on my plate. First, I had to take my boys to the dentist after I had postponed their dentist from December 28th to January 18th due to being in Oregon.

Dylan started getting his teeth clean. No cavities which it was a good news. However, he is required to have a wire retainer under his lower teeth within two weeks from now. This will help to avoid the overlap between the other teeth. David, my husband will be there on the last week of January for Dylan.

But Ryan required a lot more than we had anticipated. One was to have two bottom teeth pulled out. He also need to have three cavities being filled. THREE CAVITIES just like his dad. So, we had to take Ryan to the dentist the following day. I took my day off to be with him while his brother was at school.

After I dropped Dylan off to school, I drove straight to the dentist. The dentist gave him a medication to numb his mouth before the dentist began to work on his teeth. By the time, it was time for him to go in while I was in the same room. The dentist assistance put him the straight jacket. At first, he thought it was joking until he realized they worked on his teeth.

Second, they put the laughing gas. He was able to watch the cartoon t.v while he looked up in the ceiling. It didn't bother him while they put more "numbing" medication around in Ryan's mouth. But by the time, it was time to pull his bottom two teeth out, he could feel it. He cried. The dentist had to stop and give him more. I had to console him.

Finally, he was able to doze it off for a little while. While he was dozing it off, they had to put the crown and fillings in it. He wiggled a lot. It was even harder for the dentist and the dentist assistance.

At the end, I took him out for a treat. He ended up having a small amount of Blended Cream Chai and Whipped Cream. He was so upset that he had to use spoon only for the next 24 hours. He even rejected to have yogurt, but hopefully he would be able to have a small amount of banana. I could image he must be so hungry. He probably will after the numb faded away.

Thank You Note

How do you feel when you get a thank you note from your boss? That is what I got an unexpected note in my teaching mailbox. Her note made my week even though I had a very long week. I usually work until 5 P.M daily of this week. Making someone else smile does make difference.

Laura,

Thank you so much for all of the work you do that is above and beyond the call of duty. Helping with the lesson plans and activities for Kyle's class has been so helpful to Maribel (the aide) and the subs. I am very grateful to you for doing this! Also thank you for all of the cool websites you find and share! You are the BEST team player.

Thank you,

Tina

Truck Driving' with Puffles

Just before the boys and I decided to go to bed early, I found a remote truck swinging by me. It was Ryan who put his yellow Puffle, "Sunshine" on a remote truck. What a wonderful imagination!
Then Dylan saw what Ryan was doing. He pleaded Ryan to let his Pink Puffle, Heart to go out for a ride with Sunshine. It was extremely sweet to let his brother to go with his Puffle. They were like best friends in this evening.
It was a nice way to seeing them being best friends before we hit for bed.

At Last !

Do you know why I mentioned, "At last? It is because Ryan was qualified to go out with a car seat: he now made up to 61 pounds and is 50 inches. He just was one inches more and one more pound more than the California's law.

When I asked him if he would like to go without a car seat, he gave me a thumb up!

Sneaky

This picture suits Dylan quite well regarding his desperation for more Pezs over the past three days. It happened twice within a week.

The first time, Ryan came up to me complaining, " Dylan left all of the money all over my computer desk." This forced me to go upstairs to find out what was going on. Good enough, I indeed did find coins all over Ryan's desk. The coins were combined both Dylan's and Ryan's piggy bank. I asked Dylan to tell me what was happening.

He explained to me that Ryan had agreed to buy a Pez Movie. Dylan actually thought Ryan would love to watch ANY movie. Thus, he felt that buying Pez Movie would satisfy to both of them. I then asked Ryan if he had wanted to watch Pez Movies, or buy his DS Games. Ryan replied, "I wanted more Mario DS games." Automatically, I knew Dylan was trying to scapegoat Ryan on buying a PEZ movie for himself. I scolded Dylan. My comment was, "Dylan, you know that the money only benefit for you, NOT Ryan." He got a cat in his tongue. As a result, I told Dylan, that all of the money he had saved (though Ryan had a lot more money than Dylan) will go to Ryan because of this consequences.

On that night, he had a tear in his eyes. He mentioned, "That was the saddest night of my life. I have learned my lesson." I believe that Tough Love was all necessary.

The second time of this week, Dylan came up to me that Ryan had decided to let him buy him more pezs. I had a suspection. I came up to Ryan again. This time, I had to ask him a straight-forward question., "Ryan, was it your idea to give Dylan the money for his pez?" Ryan just laughed and said, "Yes, it was my idea. He can have my money." I twisted his mind and then asked him, "Would you like to get more Puffle?" He wanted a red puffle from Club Penguin. I knew it. After I got an answer from Ryan, Dylan came up to me, " I'm dead serious. I'm telling you the truth. Do you believe me?" Without upsetting him heavily, I simply told him, "It happened twice in this week. Thus, I had a suspect ion." Dylan gulped.

Apparently, Dylan needs to attend, "Pez Anonymous Meeting." But for one thing, he has not change his personality. He always finds a way to sneak it around since he was four.
