Zack's Daily Routine

For three entire week, we volunteered to do the dog sitting, Zack for Cathy and Richard, my mother and father in law while they are away for their belated twenty-fifth anniversary.

Every single morning, he would greeted us out of his crate and followed us all over the house. By the time, we had to leave for school and work, he would be put in his own coop place-- a depressing place to live. But by the time we arrived home, we often discovered that he would shove the cage all the way to the kitchen/garage entry. Perhaps, he was hoping he would join the event with us.

Of course, we freed him whenever he wants to do except entering in our guinea pig, Fluffy's pen. They would often communicate each other through by cage-- it is funny to watch them jumping whenever they communicate each other back.

The only distress Zack did not like was giving a bath-- who else? Except he would be curious when our boys, Dylan and Ryan were in a bath tub. He would hop on the top of a bathtub.

While David giving Zack a bath and grooming weekly, Ryan would try to ease his tension. Throughout brushing his curly hair, we didn't realize it would take a while to soften his curly hair. Boy, wasn't I glad that I'm not a dog groomer? I would hire the professional dog groomer before Cathy and Richard return from their journey.

As a reward, he gets his favorite treat- raw carrots and going out for a walk daily. The walk did us good especially at night with the average of 75 degree at 8:30 PM in order to avoid the heat wave at 95- 110 degrees. Zack enjoyed sniffing who passed by while I enjoyed easing my "stressful" mind off for a while around our long cul de sac.

At the end of our day, he would return to his own crate with a white woolly heart to sleep with it for the night. Sleeping with his possession reminds me as Linus from Charles Brown.( see the top of the picture)

Oh good! I knew that you guys would take wonderful care of that little guy. He is a sweetie.

I had found that morning and evening walks with Thor (before kids) was very relaxing. I always came back home a little happier.

Give Zack a hug from Alexis!

Doing the walk in the evening is a real blessing along with the breezing.. This evening, all four of us, including Zack, took for a half hour walk.

Wish I could do in the morning, but getting up at 5 AM before David leaves for work at 5 45 AM is not my stuff. Also, Dylan, Ryan, and I leave the house at 6:45 AM for school and work-- way too long to get up and walk at 5 AM. So, better to do it in the evening.
